Detectives Col and Danee are sent on what should be an easy mission--to collect a body from a parallel world, Jubilee. Jubilee is a pleasure world, where the only rule is that you have to have money to burn. Col and Danee quickly realize their task is not as easy as it seems because the body is that of an important, conservative politician, whose base would not be happy that he was spending time in the Vegas-like pleasure world. The story is further complicated because Col's wife, who is also a politician, has gone missing. Upon returning from Jubilee and the discovery of the identity of the body, Col and Danee are fired, then quickly hired by Jubilee's AI to work in security. While doing this, they continue to look for Col's wife and deepen their increasingly complicated relationship. Sf fans will enjoy this adventure that takes a look at the future of humans in space.
