This unit deals with the retail travel industry and tour guiding in both the local and international environment.
Topics include the chain of distribution in the tourism industry, the procedures and activities that make a successful travel agency, travel agency products and services, sources of information for sales, distribution methods and information technology, the role of the tour guide, staffing issues for travel agents and tour guides and the legal aspects.
The Study Guide, which has been reviewed and endorsed by CTH, works logically and methodically through the CTH 2010 syllabus, following the syllabus order.
